Nobody Wants To See That

Kristin Davis, the Sex and the City actress responsible for kicking off this week's sex tape/photo scandals, is still denying it's her in the pictures that have been making the rounds on the Internet. At this point she's the only one who thinks it isn't her in the photos, because we all have eyes.

But the biggest mystery involves the anonymous man also starring in the pictures — and why they are just now being released (besides, of course, to drum up publicity for the SATC movie). Page Six has identified the man as Eric Stapleman, a Santa Fe "no-scent" restaurant owner. Which kind of automatically makes him a tool.

Stapleman is claiming he gave the photos to a friend because he was mad at Kristin. Naturally. Then someone stole the shots from said friend, and voila! Instant publicity for a middle-aged has-been.

I thought I had retired the word douchebag from my vocabulary, but this guy has forced me to use it again…a no-scent restaurant??? I have never heard of such a douchey thing. ever.

Playla, dont retire Douchebag. It's old school and must be kept alive. Besides, it is so perfectly descriptive as you have pointed out.

I think the best thing for Kristin to do is not say anything. Ignore it, Kristin, and it WILL go away.
If the internet blogging world is effective at all, this Eric guy should be blacklisted and women warned never to go out with him. There should be a website called Cad.com where women can post pictures, identities, addresses etc… along with stories of terrible guys who do lousy stuff, so others can be warned.

A no-scent restaurant is one where you aren't aloud to wear perfume or anything, whether you're a customer or an employee because it may interfere with the flavors of the food.

Saddy, I used to love the word but now it seems like every asshole in the world says it, it's circular douchebaggery. Now I just use a conjugation of see you next tuesday for everything but this guys is soo much more than cunty.

What am to question about it? Whether he dated her? Whether he's the one that put those pictures of her out there? Because to me that is the least of his crimes…it's the restaurant that bugs me and I looked it up on my own. Here's a heartwarming story about it where the owner chases an old man out of the restaurant because of his wife's perfume:

on another page I saw that he is listed as the owner and chef.

Yeah, this guy sounds like the kind of petty, pretentious asshat who'd yell at old people and pass around nekkid pics of his ex.

Sadly, those pretentious asshats also make the best braised quail with caramelized fig coulis.

He's a douche for selling the photos, but not for having a no-scent restaurant. Perfume and cologne are hell on anyone who has migraines or allergies. Wish I could outlaw them altogether, since it seems no one can use them sparingly or wisely.

Smoking was outlawed because smokers refused to respect the airspace of nonsmokers. Perfume wearers should get the same treatment. They won't do it willingly, as they think they smell WONDERFUL and anyone with a perfume sensitivity should live in a plastic bubble or something. Not helpful.

Well, Migraine Sufferer, I never realized that, and I too hate people that bathe in cologne or perfume but I doubt that is his reasoning for the no-scent policy (although I doubt for you his intention is unimportant, if something gave me a migraine I would definitely be happy someone provided a space where I could go to safe from it) but I bet this guy does it just to preserve the taste of his food and to me that is douchey…I have worked in many a restaurant with many an asshole cook who won't even provide salt and pepper on the tables or upon request because it changes the chef's idea of what the meal is supposed to taste like…of course to each his own but that kind of narcissism pisses me off.

I'm not sure his reasons for a "no scent" restaurant, but as someone who gets asthamatic when around perfume, I wish there were more of them out there. I wouldn't be surprised if that's the reason for it, as there's lots of people like me adversely affected by perfume. In Nova Scotia Canada it's now against the law to wear scents in public places, which is great….it's extremely toxic and as bad as cigarette smoke for many people.

Perfume and cologne should be outlawed? Isn't that a little extreme? Do you really want the government telling people what personal hygiene products they can or can't use? I think if there's enough demand for a "no-scent" establishment, it'll succeed. But making it a law that I can't put a little perfume on (or scented lotion or whatever) smells a little fascist.

jess, they said the same about smoking in public 30 years ago…bottom line is if you are hurting someone's health by wearing perfume in public, then it's selfish and stupid. If they have to legislate to ensure I don't get stuck breathing in your toxins cause you have personal hygiene issues and need to cloak your own scent, then I'm glad they do. I don't think too many people gave up smoking in public (another harmful toxin) until they made it law. do a google search, you will see that in calif. now there are scent free entrances and seating areas at many events, just like there used to be no smoking sections.

And no doubt you know that perfumes have caused health defects in fetuses…do you really want to wear it around the public, knowing someone might be pregnant and you are harming their unborn child??? If you do a google search, you can get lots of info about it, including fact one of CK's colognes is banned in many places (illegal to sell) because of the high level of toxins it contains.

I agree with lulu as well… since when is Kristen Davis a has-been? I guess by definition she is middle-aged (early 40's) but I'd hardly call her washed up. And I really doubt the publishing of the pictures is SATC movie publicity motivated - I'd say that's a cynical idea, but it's way too retarded to be cynical. Nope, it's just some asshole motivated by cash. Remember ladies - no pictures EVER!

Oh, please. I'm going to wear a double dose of perfume just because these posts are so fascist. You can't compare perfume to smoke because second hand smoke supposedly hurts everyone. Perfume annoys a small minority. I LOVE getting a whiff of perfume from someone as I pass them.

And don't start with that "perfume will harm your fetus" crap, EVERYTHING can harm your fetus if it's badly made. Scenting yourself is an age old practice, not all perfumes are toxic and your sweeping generalizations and hysteria make me laugh. You're very ill with asthma. It's for you to find a setting where your health can be maintained, not for the rest of us to cater to you.

Hey, me, you know alot more people are allergic to trees and animals than to perfume. What should we do about that? Clear-cut the parks and forests? Massive euthanasia? I mean really? I have asthma, too, I still go out and deal with whatever's out there. If your allergies are that bad maybe you should be the one changing your lifestyle, not the rest of us.
