This Guy Is An Optimist

LAPD chief William Bratton is our new hero for turning down a law intended to control the paparazzi and offering up this gem:

What we need is Britney Spears to stay home instead of traipsing all over town. That would solve the problem. We don’t need additional laws…. I’ve got laws coming out my ears to deal with this issue.

What you have is several young women in this town and several young men basically making fools of themselves and tying up not only my resources but the resources of the media that would do better covering legitimate stories instead of a bunch of airheads running around out there.

Quite clearly some of these characters so favored by the paparazzi are clearly in need of services. Not police services, but psychiatric services.

Preach! But if he really believes the media (seen here reporting on Britney’s shopping day at the mall) would rather cover legitimate stories than these catastrophes, then maybe he’s the one who needs psychiatric services.

He’s a selfserving asshat who said the one thing he could think of to get him a little air time. PUH-LEASE, if he cared so much, he’d have changed things before, instead of whining about it.
All I can say is, congrats for getting your name in the papers douche-nozzle.

He doesn’t want to work, chelsea??? He’s a fucking police chief not a god damn body guard or paparazzi. WORKING is arresting criminals.Following Britney around so she can get her self fulfilling moment of the day is not work for a cop, it’s a waste of time.

this guy’s an ass! most celebs are not on a first name basis with paparazzi, they are being harrassed by them. to expect celebs to lock themselves in the house for the rest of their lives is ridiculous and selfish. although i can name quite i few i would like to never emerge from their homes.

Police chief to serve and protected . for all the people not just the boring and nobody cares what we do people .Serve and protect even the famous.
IT ALSO TAKES time from beating up the skate boarders

If the famous weren’t constantly acting a mess in public they wouldn’t need police protection. You don’t see Katherine Heigl walking around with an army of bodyguards, paparazzi, and police. Know why? Because she’s a sane and not an attention whore. Also, your beating up skate boarders comment leads me to believe you’re probably a 14 year old girl so I don’t even know why I’m debating with you.

While you deny you are 14 I can’t imagine you are old enough to have clients of any kind considering your your terrible grammar and spelling and lack of general intelligence. Not to mention you refer to said “clients” as non important people. I don’t need to watch the t.v., my boyfriend of 4 years is a Boston Police officer and his only “police sport” as you put it is arresting drunk drivers, wife beaters, thieves, and violent criminals. Maybe you should stop getting your information from television shows sweetie, try the news or the real world.

Jill You also sound 14. English is a second language to chelsea.I lived in Boston.I found the police there very corrupt.Just because you have a boyfriend who is a cop does not prove anything. Grow up!Live in the real world.

No. 23 jill says:

Linda, just because you had an unfavorable encounter with the Boston Police does not mean that all of the 2,000+ police officers currently in the department are corrupt. To make such a claim is irresponsible and insulting.
Secondly, I don’t usually know by heart the first languages of people who post on the same message boards as I do.
And dating a cop does prove something. It proves I know more about the inner workings and feelings of a hard working cop than someone who doesn’t date one. It also proves I understand the regulations and procedures more accurately than someone who doesn’t know one. It proves I know how frustrating it can be for them to be busy telling drunk college kids to turn their music down while they hear an officer in trouble call over the radio. But they do their job anyways because that loud music is keeping people awake and they swore to serve and protect.
I do live in the real world, Linda, and in the real world crime is a problem that most cops would rather be dealing with instead of obnoxious brats.
