September 29th, 2006 - MTV is clearly IN THE POCKETS of the record companies - this one being Universal/Motown the label for this band SHINY TOY GUNS - Universal Motown records signed the band in June of 2006. They are now trying to clean up the image of this band and they are trying to wipe away any of the bands SHADY PAST… I stand by what I stated before on blogs about this band… and on the Paris Hilton, Carah Faye Charnow dummy voice issue… well why did the band SHINY TOY GUNS have posted on their website for over 3 months the fact that CARAH FAYE CHARNOW WAS PARIS HILTON'S DUMMY VOCALIST? I saved their original website with this information that they posted back in February of 2006 to disc! The band LIED? They did not state on their website that CARAH had done, DEMO tracks for Paris Hilton, they stated that she was Paris Hilton's DUMMY VOICE! And… it is my opinion as a music producer that Carah Faye Charnow provided the guide vocals for Paris Hilton on STARS ARE BLIND, to help her deliver the lead vocal on that track, and I still stand by the statement that I believe that I hear Carah on backing vocals on Stars Are Blind. WHY DIDN'T MTV NEWS… ask SHINY TOY GUNS BAND WHY THEY POSTED ON THEIR WEBSITE THE FACT THAT CARAH FAYE CHARNOW WAS PARIS HILTON'S DUMMY VOICE? From what I've heard (and this is from someone who was a sound engineer and mixer with Sony in the 1980s and has his own company now) having dummy vocalists is common. As a matter of fact (if you believe my source) Madonna couldn't hit a note on her own if her life depended on it. She usually has to have a live feed in her ear to keep her on key. The same with Debora Iyall with Romeo Void, although I doubt if it mattered with her. A lot of vocalists look good up in front of the band (think Blackbox and Martha Wash) but really are not professionally trained singers.

It would seem with all the scandal in Hilton's life, this wouldn't be that big of a deal. Everyone knows she's not a professional singer. Ashlee Simpson getting caught doing drag to her own music didn't hurt her career. Or did it. I don't follow her music so I don't know. LOL

perhaps the issue is dead, but maybe we should look past possible lies about "dummy vocals" and towards putting pointless hostility like that behind us. putting aside the fact that shiny toy guns makes some great fucking music, even if they were to lie about the dummy vocal issue, who really cares; nobody's dead or dying, right? as mere mortals we are unable to place ultimate moral judgement on anyone, so it seems silly to waste our time doing so. i mean if shiny toy guns wants to sell out and make a buck or two telling some fibs that wont hurt anybody, more power to them. i'll tell you one thing, there are millions of people out there lying about things far more serious than whether or not they helped paris hilton sound nearly mediocre on her sad excuse for an album. let's just simmer, if we're to get heated about anything i should think they would be topics like war, the enviornment and world peace.

I noticed that Websites where she posted comments last year, have comments added by people working for Shiny Toy Guns trying to discredit her. Don't believe the SPIN that Shiny Toy Guns are trying to put out there. The comments she made on the internet, ALL OF what she says is true from what I know about what happened and what we saw.
