Yesterday, Donald Trump momentarily stopped eating the babies of the poor and replacing black ghettos with casinos and golf courses to do his good deed for the decade. The paunchy billionaire announced Thursday that he is going to save struggling TV legend Ed McMahon's home from foreclosure and then lease it to McMahon at a reasonable price.

The developer told the Los Angeles Times he doesn't know McMahon personally, but acted out of compassion because helping out "would be an honor."

"When I was at the Wharton School of Business I'd watch him every night," Trump told the Times. "How could this happen?"

Please note, this does not change the fact that Donald Trump is a vile pustule who loves only money. Don't think he didn't know that this would get his name in the papers and allow him to mention (AGAIN!) that he went to Wharton, however clumsily.

What a douchebag. The only reason he did this was for PR for the next Apprentice. If it really was out of the goodness of his heart, he would have done it anonymously.

Not much of a good deed. Bailing out Ed McMahon on his bloated piggish lifestyle is arguably the wrong thing to do.

Right, you can tell Trump really cared by his great sense of urgency to help the McMahons ASAP.

Give it a rest you guys. What he did was a good deed. Whatever he gets out of it is inconsequential to the fact that, at 85 years old, Ed gets to live in his house and have some dignity. Let it go.

I don't care if he's noramlly foul. Just goes to show that there is good where you least expect it. I'm glad he's helping him out.

Four gold stars!

hms: Wasn't the worst-case scenario out of Ed McMahon's "crisis" really that he would have had to sell a house and instead live in one that's still bigger and posher than what the vast majority of us call home?
blah: "Four gold stars" for helping a multimillionaire continue to live in the ridiculous style to which he had become accustomed? Save the gold stars for helping the poor and homeless.

hms: Trump did one nice thing (for a man who is actually well-off), but that doesn't make him a good person. Remember… Mafia members treat their mothers really well.

Don't be so jerky about it man. You're right though, let's have Ed McMahon bask in the irony that he gave money away, only to be broke himself. Yes, lets do that. Because he's clearly an evil person that must die die die.

I think he was fell into a situation where he wrongly trusted people with his money (like an accountant or something) and they didn't do a good job with it.
