In Jesus-it's-hard-to-be-an-actor news, two of America's most acclaimed and intimidating thespians, Laurence Fishburne and John Malkovich, are currently competing to replace the exiting William Petersen on television's gimmicky but fun CSI. Ah, acting: From Broadway to a Culver City sound stage littered with blacklights, just like that!
No word yet on if there's a front-runner, but we hope the slithery, simmering Malkovich gets it and out-weirds CI's Vincent D'Onofrio.

I don't know, i think they are both too big of movie stars for a show like this.
I would go with John ifi had to chose because he seems to be very intelligent, or at least he plays those types of characters really well.
I don't wish this fate on either of them. I watched an entire season of CSI before I realized it is intolerably cheesy, and that Law & Order is a better show. Law & Order, you guys…a better show than CSI. That's low.
Auditions probably just consist of them pulling sunglasses off dramatically.

Ah ha ha ha ha, YES! Someone PLEASE out-weird Vincent so when I'm up late and watching crap show reruns through a fog of cold medicine, someone can continue to creep my sh*t out with a little variety people. It would be extra cool if his character had a really unique tick, as they all do, - like randomly licking people on the face.
