She Still Cashed the Check

In a profile with the egregiously uninspired title Heigl’s Anatomy, Grey’s Anatomy star Katherine Heigl (see what they did?), expresses regret about being in summer blockbuster Knocked Up, which she felt was sophomoric and “sexist.”

“It paints the women as shrews, as humorless and uptight, and it paints the men as goofy, fun-loving guys,??? the actress ??? who just turned 29??? tells January’s Vanity Fair.

“It was hard for me to love the movie…”

We wonder if it’s hard for her to love the Vanity Fair cover she’s getting that never would have been had it not been for that “shrewish” turn, or the $300,000 payday that appended the film’s production. Somehow we doubt it, but we’re sure she cried all the way to the bank.

I would kind of say it painted men as overgrown, immature children with no purpose who need a woman to give their lives meaning, but that’s just me.

yeah, that’s what i got from the movie also janice. i must say she did a wonderful job being a humorless uptight shrew in that movie, you know, kind of like how she’s acting right now.

deimos, good call! I guess the only ‘acting’ she really did in the movie was to act like she’s NOT a money-driven, opportunistically-feminist hypocrite. Hm.

I didn’t think men or women were portayed all that great. The guys were tards, and the women were witches. But it was funny. You know, Heigle is HOT. Super Hot. I fell in love with her early, and I always wondered why she wasn’t a huge star. Now I know. She just sounds like an unpleasant person.

Yeah, being in a movie that gave her a few hundred thousand must have really sucked. She sure bitches a lot about her acting jobs.

You know what would suck worse than that? People getting sick of her whining and not giving her jobs to complain about.

Just like I say to Keanu, shhhhhhh, no speaky. They are much more attractive quiet.

Maybe so but I try not to publicly embarrass the people who employ me. If she thought it was shitty but not shitty enough to turn down the job, it kind of makes her just as crappy as the movies.

I thought she was fine till she had to publicly talk about her Gray’s Anatomy pay. And then got upset when they turned around and called her on it. And then she had to whine about not getting the spinoff show. She’s like friggin Jan Brady.

I don’t mind the Heigl, but in 4 years, no one is going to remember who she is. So she should just shut her cake hole.

I’ve never been able to do the Du with a straight face. I had the misfortune of watching Green Card one day and the Du coupled with my admittedly irrational and over-the-top hatred for Andie MacDowell made that day a really shitty day.

Good for her for pointing it out! Glorified male retardation is the new white. Actresses do not have many options if they want to work. It’s alot like being a prostitute, at a much higher level. The men don’t say, yea, I’m playing another “retarded man role, and it’s funny, but juvinille and makes us look like little giggiling Americans pointing at we we’s and dinguses, but hey, I’m getteing paid”. i’m not sure “actresses do not have many options if they want to work” applies to hot young things with huge racks.

i think that sentiment applies more to aging actresses (and by aging i mean, hitting 40, *gasp* and actresses who are actually smart, like tina fey. she had to make her own damn show and even her “tween” moviehad an edge and a point to it.

she oughtta take a page from mcdempsey who had a promising career “can’t but me love is, like, totally one of the best movies ever, but then practically dropped off the face of the planet for thirty years.

there was in a point in there somewhere… if you figure out what it is, lemme know.

I’m not sure why we would get upset that a comedy portrays people in an unrealistic manner. Is anyone really surprised or offended? They???re movies- intended for entertainment, not education. If we want something true to life, stick to watching documentaries.

And I???m sorry but I like Katherine Heigl. Or at least I really like her finance, Josh Kelley. He is a great guy and puts on a fantastic concert.

blah, I think Steinem and daddy Bale were married in 2000, but I think he may have died since. Well, obviously since. They generally don’t allow the dead to marry, unless you live in Tim Burton’s world. That was far less coherent than I intended. I blame the pie. I hate this woman. Trust me, she will not go far with that attitude. Without Seth Rogen, she’d be nothing in the movie. Paul Rudd, Leslie Man and Seth Rogen were the real talent of the show. Heigl wasn’t acting, she was just her SOUR cottage cheese ass self!
