The funny, funny, funny Writer's Guild has struck a deal with the NAACP that will allow the influential civil rights organization to produce their Image Awards with WGA writers and no picketing of the event. And get this, racist conspiracy theorists: They're basically giving them the go-ahead because they're black!
“The Guild examines each request like this individually and no decision is easy. Our ultimate goal is to resolve this strike by achieving a good contract. Because of the historic role the NAACP has played in struggles like ours, we think this decision is appropriate to jointly achieve our goals,” said [Patric Verrone, president of the WGA West].
Is this what they meant by "separate is not equal"?

I don't know about "separate not equal," but I do know that, unfortunately, I'll probably tune in smack dab in the middle of a Mo'Nique tirade or a Sherri Shepardism. I'd rather watch a video of Britney Spears pretending to buy a pregnancy test so that her new boyfriend can become famous.
They struck a deal because the NAACP isn't that popular. That way people are still crying in their beers that they can't watch a bunch of overrated movies get Oscars and they still make some cash.
Seriously, though, what are all the production people, hair and makeup, stage… doing?

It's a total lose, lose. The more award shows that aren't on, the more I realized, I hate them. Hopefully they never come back but you know they will. I just hope everybody decides a life without watching awards shows is good. The only good part was making fun of Billy Bush and his chia hair.
I think I need to make up a new meaning for WGA so I start to care again.
