I suggest "Move On Up" by Curtis Mayfield.
What would they play if he lost? I seriously don't know enough about music to think of any funny ideas. "Running On Empty" by Jackson Browne? "Pressure Drop" by Toots And The Maytals? A shitload of Elliott Smith?
Prince's "The Sacrifice of Victor" woulda been a great choice.
Bananarama's "Cruel Summer" is always apropos.
There truly isn't an occasion where Bananarama doesn't work. Good call.
I don't understand why politicians think Born in the USA is a great celebration song. Don't get me wrong it's an amazing song, but it's about how f'd up the country is. In truth it's actually a very fitting song for what is going on around us right now with the economy in the toilet and unemployment on the rise.
