Is This One-Trick Pony Still Tricky?

The reason musicians work so damn hard at the beginning of their careers is so that, years later, they can produce schlock that people will buy regardless of whether or not they should. It's called "cred" and it's why out of touch boomers would buy recordings of Bob Dylan farting and slurping soup if he released them.

The above is the new video for "You Don't Know What Love Is (You Just Do As You're Told)," a new single from The White Stripes. They've got cred, but this song sure as hell doesn't.

    I felt the same upon hearing Rag and Bone. He's trying really hard to strike the "strange-yet-appealing" balance, but it's not working. And Meg is like a wet dishcloth. Good thing we have The Raconteurs.
