College Station Paper Chooses the Colored Fella

Forget the "just a matter of time" Obama endorsements from liberal mainstays the New York Times and the Washington Post. Those rags were in the tank since '04. For a real barometer for America's political attitudes, check out the Bryan-College Station Eagle's endorsement of the Democratic ticket. Things are finally so bad that even Texas hate communities that usually loathe any African American who can't score a touchdown are betting on black!

Put this on your fourth cheeseburger, Limbaugh.

I noticed a few Obama signs out in the sticks where I live in the last few days…I was in shock when I saw them…bewildered by it really…this is the area of the country were you find the most ignorant racists. I suppose even they are realizing this is not about skin color. This is about leadership and policies most beneficial to our whole society.

@No. 6 — I'm class of '07! Gig em, indeed.

I worked at this paper for almost two years before moving to NYC and joining the Jossip family. This editorial makes me proud.

OK, that's enough pink boxes for one day.

Oh, Whit, don't be shy. We get all excited when we see pink boxes around here. It's like the wizard coming out from behind the curtain. I do think you need your own sign-off though, since no one is "besting" anymore. What about, "Yeah, I said that shit, Whitney?" No?

My best friend is presently visiting Dallas for the first time, and decided to bring her cutest Obama t-shirts for the occasion to gauge response. No n-word lovers to report thus far, but I did receive a text today around 11 from her reporting that some kindly soul told her at breakfast that she should hurry up and eat or she would miss the airing of "Ellen".

I literally gasped out loud when I read this post. As an Obama die-hard and someone who graduated '02 from A&M Consolidated High School, I'm thrilled to see my town (and city newspaper) throw it's support behind the dem nominee.

See y'all, not everyone from Texas is a right-wing crazy. Promise.

FYI- "Gig 'em" is a Texas A&M University thing. Since I didn't attend, I don't have to wherewithall/bleed maroon right to explain what it means. You hear it roughly 1,082 times during football season. I escaped to North Texas to be with my fellow dems. I had no idea you were an Aggie, Whitney!
