Shes from my hometown…they've declared the day she preforms here, March 21st, "Nelly Day"….It is the most idiotic thing I have ever heard…shes a complete sellout. She was a total hippy-chick in the beginning and shes just as skanked out as any other popstar now!….Apparently, its all about branching out and trying new things with the music…but shes not..shes turning into every other singer out there…she should NOT have a damn day named after her..

I couldn't disagree more, she still stands worlds apart from most of the other artists topping the charts. Her music is fucking awesome to dance to now and she uses lots of portuguese influences just like she did when she first came out. You can't make an accurate assessment by watching her for 3 minutes on TRL. Just because someone doesn't cater to your specific desires doesn't mean they are a 'sell out', I couldn't be happier that she is addressing a different market now.

Wow, none of you have ever listened to her speak or her albums just what is played on the radio or tv. She has been very vocal in her love of hip hop and her own Portugese music. I think this was a natural progression for her and her record company decided to back since her last album Forklore got no play or promotion.
Also this type of music is easy to sell and will get you out of debt to your record company. Also she's been very lucky most artist don't get a third album after a nonselling second/sophmore album.

She's a good artist and I'll continue to buy all her albums to see where she goes/grows next.
