She's saying that the journalism and hoopla that comes with a celebrity-laden event isn't Estelle. She deserved to be laid to rest with the respect and honor she so deserved. Not a media circus.

Betty White's statement is absolutely absurd! Estelle Getty's funeral wasn't going to be a celebrity-laden event — everyone knows it pays to stalk the young stars such as Lindsey, Britney and Miley!! I highly doubt major media was going to show up in droves for a former tv star who hasn't been in the public eye for years.

For Betty and the rest of the gals to not pay the woman their last respects because you don't approve of a flash bulbs or cameras is ridiculous. Especially coming from people who have made a nice living working in front of them.

You don't think there was a memorial besides this one? Get real. Those women loved each other and do you think it's possibly the family wanted it that way?

They follow Katie Holmes around because she is wearing rolled up jeans.

If you don't think the media would have been there if the other three Golden Girls had been there, then you are crazy. And how do you know they did not pay their respects privately?

We will probably never know if the other "Golden Girls" attended another memorial service, but I understand Betty White's statement about the funeral being about Estelle. May she rest in eternal peace.

THEY WERE WRONG NOT TO ATTEND THE SERVICE THAT WAS THEIR HOME GIRL WHOM THEY WORKING WITH FOR YEARS. I WOULD NOT LET THE MEDIA STOP ME FROM ATTENDING ANY OF MY BEST FRIENDS FUNERAL. AND IF THE POSSIBLILITY OF MEDIA ATTENTION WAS THE ISSUE, THERE IS SUCH A THING AS A PRIVATE CLOSED FUNERAL IN WHICH THE MEDIA CANNOT ATTEND AND NOW IT ONLY MAKES THEM LOOK BAD AS IF THEY STAYED HOME TO SEW CLOTHES AND COOK INSTEAD OF PAYING RESPECTS TO ESTELLE GETTY. AND IF THE MEDIA WAS GOING TO BE THERE, THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN THE CASE IN WHICH WHETHER OR NOT THE OTHER GOLDEN GIRLS ATTENDED. SO BETTY WHITE'S EXPLANATION IS A BUNCH OF BULL. BUT IN ANY CASE I HOPE THEY DID ATTEND A PRIVATE MEMORIAL TO PAY THEIR RESPECTS BECAUSE IF THEY DIDN'T SHAME ON THEM AND MAY OTHERS DISRESPECT THEIR DEATH AS THEY DID DISRESPECT ESTELLE'S DEATH.
