Praised By Daughter at Work Day

brianwilliams

Veteran NBC anchor Brian Williams hosted Saturday Night Live over the weekend and the reviews have been sparkling. Even his own daughter thought he did great: "The show was a great success. His acting was nuanced, subtle, and wonderful, the lines were delivered naturally (not a surprise), his characters were colorful, he took enough risks and didn't cross any lines, and lastly: HE'S FUNNY!" Those least impressed? Everyone commenting on what his daughter had to say:

• "Funny, no kidding? Wait a moment: did he come up with the lines that he 'memorized'? No, but he delivered them 'naturally'. Hence - great sense of humor? Sorry, it does not work like that."

• "He used that same face when he described weapons of mass destruction and the link between Saddam Hussein and 9/11…
Another puppet for this regime…Doesnt know whether he is a comic or a reporter…"

• "I still haven't forgiven Brian Williams for his role as a media tool of the Bush regime. He actually had the nerve to praise Rush Limbaugh as a great broadcaster…Also, I generally don't like SNL. SNL hasn't been funny for like 20 years."

I think that it is great that his daughter had nice things to say. When your kid is proud of you, then you're on top of the world. It doesn't
matter what anyone else has to say at that point.
They can be our worst critics.

I, for one, seem to always embarrass my kids.
I sometimes can't even breath in and out without annoying them.

Your breathing is annoying me too. Keep it down. I can't hear the voice in my head.

Inhaling is fine. It's just the exhales that make it hard to hear the voice. I can't hear my mission for the day.

I didn't see the episode in question, but SNL really hasn't been funny in a long time. Maybe I'm just old and cranky … probably the case.

I hate hearing people breathe through their mouth (nose isn't half as bad). Elevators are the worst! Especially when the person is (sorry if I am an ass for this) sick or really fat. Close your damn mouth!

Friggin mouth breathers. Just get it over with and lick me. Let's just speed up the process of you getting your germy spores on me. Yuck, especially right after lunch or something. They might as well be breathing through their ass. wow, I'm pretty grumpy today. I might need some medicinal marijuana.

wow. responses 2 and 3 kinda make me want to put the commentators through your basic journalism program, send them out undercover into terrorist cells in third world countries, and see if they manage not to get shot while failing to turn up reliable information. it's hard work, and most journalists (pretty much all) are not cut out for it. the media went on the only data it had. that's not kow-towing to a "regime", that's reporting the facts as they appear. capitulating would be if they NEVER told us. and like it or lump it (can't stand the man myself) limbaugh was/is a good broadcaster. an asshole, but one who did his thing well.
i like real liberals. conspiracy-theorist, knee-jerk liberals i just want to punch in the face until they get enough brain damage to stop talking. if you don't have anything original to say, STFU.

RCDC Oh shiiiit, where to begin…hmmm I like real conservatives, gun-toting, knee jerk bible thumpers. Of course if you try to debate them they'll resort to petty name calling and violent tactics, well it worked for Bush so…Why don't you STFU. Commentators 2 and 3 are here to do just that, COMMENT. Journalism should be intelligent but it's not the fucking Marine Corps. Semper Fi douche bag!

I'm pretty sure RCDC was referring to:

“He used that same face when he described weapons of mass destruction and the link between Saddam Hussein and 9/11…
Another puppet for this regime…Doesnt know whether he is a comic or a reporter…”

    • “I still haven’t forgiven Brian Williams for his role as a media tool of the Bush regime. He actually had the nerve to praise Rush Limbaugh as a great broadcaster…Also, I generally don’t like SNL. SNL hasn’t been funny for like 20 years.”

I love everybody, though. Except Britney Spears.

At first, I thought RCDC was referring to QC and Juju. But then I thought, what the hell political context could anyone find in what they posted?

So I went all Encyclopedia Brown on that bitch.

Awwwwwwwwwww, Maria. I think I love you, but what am I so afraid of. I thought they were talking about me and QC too. I couldn't figure out how my comment made me look like I was trying to be an imaginary jounalist.

Obviously I would be fired and shot on my first day. My punctuation is atrocious and I make no apologies or backspacing.

Thank you maria!! I thought he was talking about us too, and I was DOWN for the challenge. I have

And I made it out alive. :-)

haha yeah, perhaps i should have made that a bit clearer… sorry about the rant, btw, but as a moderate liberal on a very liberal college campus (where few people have the time to research/think before they talk and therefore just recycle opinions wholesale) i often find myself being the voice of "um… seriously? do you HEAR yourself talking?" …guess i slip into it a little too easily haha… apologies QC and juju, i'm a bit of a lurker but i think you guys are great
