Love the Swimmer reference - Cheever's only recent claim to fame was as Susan's father's lover in a Seinfeld episode. I would have chosen the Ice Storm or Happiness over American Beauty, but then that may be just jumping on your snobwagon.

it was only around last xmas you were ranting about how much the suburbs suck. so i guess there is still an audience for movies about how the suburbs suck.

I think that movie looks wonderful and I will totally download it illegally. I mean, see it in the movie theatre. I live in the suburbs, I like them. You know, now that I'm pushing 30. I also lived in Brooklyn a few years ago. I thought it was a vile place to live.
