T.I. Would Be Proud

After what feels like years of disgusting tales from the presidential campaigns, here's something heartwarming: Children getting involved in the political process in a cute way, without being forced to play mouthpiece for their parents. We're all for kids learning to love politics at an early age as long as they are open to both sides and not brainwashed into thinking one way or the other (for an example of that, revisit this).

And remember: You can vote however you like today. Just go vote.

Good message, you CAN vote however you like. Dont vote for the black guy cause you think you will be considered a racist if you dont.

Matt you are the angry drunk at the end of the night that can't understand why the man you have been harrassing all night won't leave with you. Give it up. It's closing time. You don't have to go home but you can't stay here.

I had a very pleasant voting experience this morning here in lovely Arlington, VA. I got in line about 5:45 (the line was already about 2 city blocks long). A nice young guy who was a McCain supporter named Matt, oddly enough, and a mid-20s girl named Melissa (who never said who she was voting for), and I proceeded to chat amicably while we waited in line. The line moved quickly, the staff was well-organized, and moods were generally pretty good (I didn't hear anyone bitching about having to wait). The hour and a half in line passed rather quickly, and I can now say that I've done my civic duty.

On the radio into work, I just heard them say that there aren't many lines right now, so if you are in the DC metro area, now may be the time to go vote if you haven't already!

I know it is. But the reports are that the polling is badly skewed because people were afraid to say they arent voting for Obama.

there has been all kind of articles out there stating some people being polled would be nervous to say they werent voting for Obama for fear of being labled racist.

Also, hispanics are the most underpolled ethnic group in the US and most of their vote is going toward McCain.

Also i cling to every thread thrown to me about the possibility of Americans not being able to move past their racial fears and post it hoping that people will hunt down my "polls".

oh, so it's the link that you don't like? OK, here's the text then…(for matty, in #11)

"PHOENIX (Reuters) – In the final stretch to the U.S. presidential election, more than three quarters of likely Hispanic voters say they support Democrat Barack Obama over Republican John McCain, a study found.

The Univision/Reuters/Zogby poll released on Tuesday said that 78 percent of a sample of 1,016 Latino likely voters favored Sen. Obama, with 13 percent supporting McCain, an Arizona senator."

full article is on yahoo news…since that bitch Wordpress won't let me post the link.

I voted about an hour ago. No line whatsoever, this is in a semi-rural county in Ohio about 60 miles south of Cleveland. I was a wee disappointed, I hoped for a long line that would merit a visit from the silver fox at CNN. I even put makeup on this morning. I was ready for my close-up, Mr. DeMille. Dammit.

Aww, I had long lines. But everyone was friendly and there was a family with adorable daughters in line behind me. And there were NO McCain people outside the polls, only Obama.

That being said, my Mom and I talked about it, and we're moving to Ireland and opening a pub if McCain wins. And maybe Obama too, since the plan sounded really lovely when we developed it.

Matt,

I am Latina and I don't speak for all my peeps, but I certainly won't be voting the way you expect me to either. Neither is anyone I know in the hood or in the family. There's three Mexicans, but they're Californians and we've given up un them. They're just misguided.

What is Matt going to do with his days when he can no longer spout hateful, discredited talking points on gossip blogs?

Well, since he's clearly a masochist as he keeps coming on here to get intellectually pwned, maybe he could become a trial monkey for nipple clamps or something. I'm just thinking about his happiness.

There's no way the majority of Hispanics are going to vote for McCain. Obama wants to give driver's licenses to illegals aliens and is for amnesty for the 12 million that are presently in our country. So which do you think appeals more to them? Bingo.

I, btw, am a 3rd generation American citizen of Mexican descent. And I vote Republican. Yes, an oddity, I know.

Posted: Nov 4, 2008 at 2:18 pm
No. 32 Matt says:

why the fuck would any idiot want to give illegals drivers licenses?

Makes perfect sense, now the bastards can get around easier and take more of the American lower class citizens jobs.

Go Obama!!! Ill know who to thank when Im ordering my fries from Pedro instead of a young American starting in the workforce.

:rolling eyes:
