They're Bound to Show You All the Fucking Time

tongue

Here, Nick Simmons, spawn of Gene, proves without a doubt that tongue characteristics are predetermined by genetics more than I ever could have imagined. Let's hope he doesn't also inherit his father's penchant for chauvinism.

Totally just you, Cord. He isn't bending anyone over. I don't see any weapons being used to make them do this. KISS has always been "tongue in cheek" and Gene actually keeps a good sense of humor about himself while he laughs all the way to the bank.

And if the women are particpating voluntarily, how is it chauvinism? Aren't they creating their own power by doing things of their own free will? Or… feminism?

    Cord,

Feminism is about women's choice. these women are choosing to bend over and show thier asses for the whole world and thank god they have the ability to make that choice, even if i wouldnt. I think its chauvanistic to think that everytime a woman displays her body for a man, celeb is some act of giving up power, anti feminist or the person on the recieving end is a chauvanist. As long as its thier choice you could ALMOST call it feminist (some would.. me… i hold back a bit becuase i wonder why they choose to do this, and am just glad then can).

@ evil twin - I doubt (or hope) that your husband is exploiting your butt for profit. It's true that these women are choosing to make money off their lovely butts, but it's sad to me that they're willing to do it.

But Gene's not exploting them for his profit. They're choosing to exploit themselves and make money. I fail to see how that makes GENE a chauvinist, whether I agree with the women's choices or not.

Was it their choice? I don't think that it is any more empowering to be forced to wear clothes from the top of your head to the bottom of your ankles and only be escorted about by male relatives like you are a piece of property headed for the auction.

The point is, we have a choice in what we do and how we portray ourselves.

And for the love of all things, it's meant to send up Gene's "ladies' man" image. It's not meant for serious debate. Damn, celia. Asses are for looking at.

Celia it is no less "dis"empowering to be expected to wear all your clothes becuase its feminist to NOT have to bear it all. A women's power really comes from her choices. Thesse girls arent forced to do this, they choose to do so? Is this a good choice? Probably not. Is this the choice i would make? Definately not. But its their choice, and its not yours. It seems to me that if a woman doesnt adhere to your vision of what an empowered woman should be. That is decidedly unfeminist. This is very much like the "are housewives feminists?" debate. It is decidedly unfeminist to behave as an empowered woman behaves, adhering to someone ELSE's opinion. These women are making thier own choices - now you can question WHY they make these choices and there are most likely very much unempowering reasons why they have choosen to do so but the point is THEY CHOOSE TO DO SO. No one makes them behave as such. Empowerment comes in the ability to choose your own fate, or even your own breakfast, it is when others start making those choices for you that you begin to lose power. And celia, you are making these choices for them by saying there is no Empowerment in thier decisions, and anyone disagreeing is an ass or stupid. (but i do appreciate that because i dont agree with you i am an idiot or an ass - i dont agree with Cord, by im not calling him an ass, hes entitled to his opinion).

I think Cord's view on the situtation is just as chauvanistic as he seems to think gene is. (i do not DO NOT think Cord is a chauvinist) If a woman wants to be naked she should be - in front of whomever she chooses.

but clearly you, celia, are the grand magister on all that is smart, stupid, empowering or not and obviously choices that would not be your choices are the WRONG choices.

the ugliest word in the english language is that word you jsut used.. although have you read cunt? the book is empowering.

Yes a feminist is anyone who CHOSES to debase herself and act like a fucking idiot, or anyone who CHOOSES to sound like a fucking jerk on a message board or CHOOSES to keep her clothes on, choose to have sex, not to have sex, work, not work, strip, study ect.

I dont think gloria stienem would weep over it, but betty freidan would would erect a monument to you sentiment, and scold you for your horrid word choice. You should take the time to read outrageous acts because if you had you'd not have listed gloria stienem. Read some second wave feminist books, i suggest from left to center, the second sex, the female eunich, outrageous acts and everyday rebellions, and the feminine mystique. I also suggest reading hypocrite in a whitepoufy dress, kiss my tiara AND how to make love like a pornstar (why? because in her own misguided way, jenna jameson is a porn feminist - if you believe her…. but her view is eye opening). Broaden your feminist sphere you seem to be stuck in this very friedanian view on feminism where a feminist is one way and no other. This is why people a. hate feminists, and b. we lost the e.r.a. (which we have women to blame)

your power is in your choices.. it doesnt matter if YOU dont like someone elses choice, provided they make it.

Who cares what Jews like Betty Friedan or Gloria Steinem say? They just try to make women dissatisfied so they'll go off on some wild goose chase, and never find a good man who really loves them.

Feminism is just Step One on the road to paganism. Women are "the glory of man," it says in the Bible, but they are no better or worse than men. There is nothing to put on a pedestal. They are just people, and frankly, they are prone to more illusions and crises of identity than men. Both sexes need to be saved by Jesus.

    All right, lecture over.
